With the whole Christian Church the United Reformed Church believes in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The life of faith to which we are called is the spirit’s gift.

We are celebrating our 200th anniversary in 2010.

Bicentenary Celebrations

In 1810, a group of local people founded a Congregational Church in Spring Gardens. They initially built a chapel through subscriptions but later in 1861 raised funds for a church building. In 1881 a Sunday School on Hardwick Square East was opened and it is in this building that the present day congregation continue to worship and witness.

The national Congregational Church united with the Presbyterian Church in 1972 and from then on the local church has been called Buxton United Reformed Church.
